The Problem With
Offline Payments

Every existing payment infrastructure — EMV, NFC, Apple Pay, contactless card — assumes persistent network connectivity. When that connectivity fails, transactions either reject or accept blindly with no reversal capability, creating systemic fraud exposure in dual-offline environments.

— The Problem
No existing hardware supports reversible transaction staging without network access
Offline reversal attempts create replay vulnerabilities — compromised devices can multiply assets without detection
Subterranean transit, aviation, marine, rural retail, and disaster zones are commercially unserved by secure payment infrastructure
No hardware-enforced timer-bounded commitment mechanism exists at the silicon layer
— The Krytix Solution
Hardware-isolated reversible staging memory sector — cryptographically gated, inaccessible to OS and network interfaces
Dual-party biometric attestation engine operating entirely offline — merchant PIN plus consumer fingerprint or iris
Hardware monotonic clock with capacitive energy reserve — cannot be paused, reset, or modified by software
Zeroization mesh perimeter — physical tamper triggers microsecond erasure of all staged data and cryptographic keys
Technical Architecture

Hardware-First.
Network-Never.

The Krytix architecture implements a mandatory third transaction state — conditional stasis — enforced entirely at the silicon layer. No firmware patch, no cloud update, no network call can bypass it.

🔒
Reversible Staging Sector

MEM_STAGE_REV — a cryptographically isolated non-volatile memory boundary within the Hardware Secure Element, inaccessible to the terminal OS, network interfaces, and standard ledger commit pathways while a transaction is staged.

Hardware Monotonic Clock

Driven by a dedicated crystal micro-oscillator within the SAM tamper perimeter. Backed by an independent capacitive energy reserve. Cannot be paused, reset, or modified by any software command or external clock synchronization signal.

🔑
Dual-Party Attestation

Factor 1: Merchant supervisor PIN generating SIG_MERCH_AUTH inside the SAM. Factor 2: Consumer biometric (fingerprint or iris) processed in the device TEE generating SIG_CONS_AUTH. Both required concurrently for reversal — neither alone is sufficient.

Post-Quantum Cryptography

All cryptographic operations use ML-KEM-768 conforming to FIPS 203 — the NIST post-quantum key encapsulation standard. Transaction tokens and attestation signatures are quantum-resistant from day one.

📡
APDU Protocol Extensions

Proprietary APDU command extensions — INITIATE_STAGE_TX (INS 0x3C) with TAG_STAGE_REV — transmitted via NFC or BLE contactless link. Hardware routing parameter selectable at transaction initiation.

🛡
Zeroization Mesh

A physical tamper-detection perimeter of conductive tracks carrying supervised electrical current. Physical breach interrupts the current and triggers microsecond erasure of all staged transaction data and cryptographic key material.

Target Markets

Every Environment
Without Connectivity

Any commercial environment where network connectivity cannot be assumed is an addressable market for Krytix. The platform is infrastructure-agnostic — it deploys to any NFC or BLE capable payment terminal.

🚇
Mass Transit

Subterranean rail, subway fare systems, underground ticketing — where GPS and cellular signals cannot penetrate

✈️
Aviation

In-flight retail, aircraft service payments — operating at altitude without satellite connectivity overhead cost

🚢
Marine

Cruise ship commerce, offshore vessel transactions — complete payment sovereignty at sea

🏔
Remote Retail

Deep-rural points of sale, mountain resort commerce, agricultural markets — commerce without cellular infrastructure

🚨
Disaster Response

Post-hurricane, post-earthquake commerce in telecom blackout zones — economic continuity when infrastructure fails

🏛
Government & Defense

Secure offline procurement, logistics authorization tokens, classified environment credentialing

🏟
Venues & Events

Stadium cashless payments under network congestion, arena concessions, festival commerce at scale

🔐
Access Control

Secure entitlement transfer, offline ticketing, industrial authorization token management
